  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 8 ounces macaroni pasta
Cheese & Seasoning
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a casserole dish and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with onions and garlic until fully cooked. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Add the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Simmer for a few minutes to blend the flavors.
  4. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  5. In the prepared casserole dish, layer cooked pasta, the beef mixture, and shredded cheese. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy the creamy, cheesy comfort of this Beef Lombardi Casserole.

Notes

For extra richness, swirl in a spoonful of sour cream or ricotta between layers. You can also use lean ground turkey as a lighter alternative.
