Ingredients
Method
- 1. Prepare the Brownie Layer: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt butter, then stir in sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until fully incorporated.
- 2. Mix the Batter: In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually combine dry ingredients with the wet mixture until smooth.
- 3. Bake the Brownie Base: Pour the brownie batter into a greased 9-inch springform pan and bake for 25–30 minutes. Allow to cool completely before adding cheesecake layer.
- 4. Prepare the Cheesecake Layer: In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla and sour cream until smooth.
- 5. Bake the Cheesecake: Pour the cheesecake mixture over the cooled brownie layer. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the center is just set. Let cool completely on a wire rack.
- 6. Make the Caramel Sauce: In a saucepan, heat sugar over medium heat until melted and amber-colored. Stir in butter until dissolved, then slowly add heavy cream while whisking. Stir in sea salt and let cool slightly.
- 7. Finish and Serve: Drizzle the caramel sauce generously over the cooled cheesecake. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before slicing and serving.
Notes
Tip: For a perfectly smooth cheesecake, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature. You can also add chopped pecans or drizzle melted chocolate along with the caramel for extra decadence.
