Ingredients
Method
- 1. Preheat the oven: Set the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- 2. Cook the pasta: Boil elbow macaroni according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 3. Brown the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is soft and translucent.
- 4. Build the sauce: Stir in diced tomatoes, beef broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes to let the flavors meld.
- 5. Combine pasta and sauce: Add the cooked macaroni to the skillet, stirring until well coated.
- 6. Bake the casserole: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
- 7. Finish and serve: Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra cheeseburger flavor, top with diced pickles, crispy bacon bits, or a drizzle of ketchup before serving. Leftovers reheat beautifully the next day!
