Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • ½ cup festive sprinkles

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips and optional nuts.
  8. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Add festive sprinkles over the surface.
  9. Bake for 22–28 minutes, or until lightly golden and set in the center.
  10. Cool completely in the pan before lifting out and slicing into bars.

Notes

For extra holiday flair, drizzle melted white chocolate over the cooled bars. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
