Ingredients
Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line or grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and buttermilk.
- Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Gently fold in the sprinkles, being careful not to overmix to prevent color bleeding.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Smooth the top and add coarse sugar or sprinkles if desired.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use jimmies-style sprinkles only—nonpareils will bleed into the batter. For extra flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. Bread stays moist for 3 days when wrapped tightly.
