Ingredients
Method
- Dissolve the yeast in warm water with a pinch of sugar. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and softened butter.
- Pour the activated yeast mixture into the bowl and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll the risen dough into a rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
- In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar, then sprinkle evenly over the dough.
- Starting from a short end, roll the dough tightly into a log.
- Place the dough into a greased loaf pan, cover, and let rise for 30–45 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the pan and cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
Notes
For extra richness, brush the warm loaf with melted butter after baking. Store leftovers tightly wrapped at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for longer storage.
