Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups Granulated sugar
  • 4 Large eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups Sour cream
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup Packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 cup Chopped pecans or walnuts optional
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar
  • 0.25 cup Milk or more as needed
  • 0.5 tsp Vanilla extract

Method

  1. 1. Preheat the Oven: Set the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a Bundt pan thoroughly.
  2. 2. Make the Batter: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a large bowl, cream softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla and sour cream. Gradually add dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  3. 3. Make the Cinnamon Swirl: In a small bowl, stir together melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped nuts if using.
  4. 4. Assemble: Pour half of the batter into the prepared Bundt pan. Spoon the cinnamon swirl mixture evenly over it. Top with remaining batter and gently swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  5. 5. Bake: Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. 6. Glaze: In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cake and allow it to set before slicing.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a touch of nutmeg to the cinnamon mixture or drizzle with a cream cheese glaze instead of vanilla.
