Method

  1. Plan your menu and shopping list several days in advance, prioritizing shelf-stable and fresh ingredients.
  2. Wash, slice, and prep all vegetables. Store in airtight containers in the fridge.
  3. Toast baguette slices and let them cool. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
  4. Assemble dips and transfer to serving bowls. Cover and refrigerate.
  5. Assemble skewers with cubes of cheese, fruits, and meats. Store chilled.
  6. Spread cream cheese on tortillas, add meat, roll tightly, and slice into pinwheels. Store chilled.
  7. Just before serving, assemble crostini with toppings to prevent sogginess. Add fresh herbs or garnishes.
  8. Allow refrigerated items to come to room temperature 30–60 minutes before serving, if appropriate.
  9. Arrange all appetizers on platters with attention to presentation, using varied heights and colors.

Notes

For dietary needs, use vegan spreads or gluten-free crackers. Swap seasonal ingredients as needed. Always use safe food handling practices, especially for dairy and meats. Don't let appetizers sit out longer than 2 hours.
