- Prepare the Cake: Bake the chocolate cake as directed on the box. Once baked, remove from the oven and cool for 10 minutes. Using the end of a spoon, poke holes evenly across the surface of the cake.
- Add Hot Fudge: Warm the hot fudge in the microwave until pourable. Evenly drizzle over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes. Let the cake cool completely.
- Make the Pudding Layer: In a medium bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and milk. Before the pudding fully sets, pour it over the cooled cake. Refrigerate for 20 minutes to chill.
- Prepare the Topping: In another bowl, combine the second package of pudding mix with milk. Chill for 10 minutes until set. Fold in the thawed Cool Whip and ¾ of the crushed Oreos.
- Assemble: Spread the pudding mixture evenly over the chilled cake. Sprinkle the remaining crushed Oreos on top.
- Chill and Serve: Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve cold for the best texture and flavor.
Notes
For extra flavor, add gummy worms or chocolate chips on top for a fun twist! You can also substitute homemade whipped cream for Cool Whip if you prefer a fresher flavor.
