Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix plus ingredients listed on the box
  • 12.8 oz hot fudge
  • 3.4 oz chocolate instant pudding mix
  • 1.75 cups milk
  • 30 Oreos crushed
  • 3.4 oz chocolate instant pudding mix
  • 1.75 cups milk
  • 8 oz Cool Whip thawed

Method

  1. Prepare the Cake: Bake the chocolate cake as directed on the box. Once baked, remove from the oven and cool for 10 minutes. Using the end of a spoon, poke holes evenly across the surface of the cake.
  2. Add Hot Fudge: Warm the hot fudge in the microwave until pourable. Evenly drizzle over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes. Let the cake cool completely.
  3. Make the Pudding Layer: In a medium bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and milk. Before the pudding fully sets, pour it over the cooled cake. Refrigerate for 20 minutes to chill.
  4. Prepare the Topping: In another bowl, combine the second package of pudding mix with milk. Chill for 10 minutes until set. Fold in the thawed Cool Whip and ¾ of the crushed Oreos.
  5. Assemble: Spread the pudding mixture evenly over the chilled cake. Sprinkle the remaining crushed Oreos on top.
  6. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve cold for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

For extra flavor, add gummy worms or chocolate chips on top for a fun twist! You can also substitute homemade whipped cream for Cool Whip if you prefer a fresher flavor.
