  • 1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • dash nutmeg
  • 1 clove garlic, diced
  • 3 ½ cups beef broth
  • 1 cup orzo
  • ½ cup sour cream

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Brown the ground beef and chopped onion in a medium to large saute pan, seasoning with garlic salt, pepper, onion powder, and nutmeg. Break the beef apart as it cooks.
  2. Add the diced garlic to the pan during the last minute of cooking with the beef and onion.
  3. Pour in the beef broth and orzo, then reduce the heat to medium-low.
  4. Continue cooking and stirring frequently until the orzo is tender, ensuring it doesn't stick to the pan.
  5. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the sour cream, then serve hot.

Serve hot with crusty bread and a green salad.
