Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup Plain Greek yogurt
  • 0.33 cup Coconut oil or unsalted butter melted
  • 0.5 cup Maple syrup or honey
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 0.5 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup Cocoa powder
  • 0.5 cup All-purpose flour or almond flour for gluten-free
  • 0.5 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.33 cup Chocolate chips plus extra for topping

Method

  1. 1. Prepare the Pan: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. 2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, melted coconut oil (or butter), maple syrup (or honey), eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. 3. Add Dry Ingredients: Sift in cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt. Gently fold the mixture until just combined—avoid overmixing.
  4. 4. Add Chocolate Chips: Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the batter.
  5. 5. Bake: Spread the batter evenly in the pan. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the center is just set. A toothpick should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. 6. Cool and Serve: Let brownies cool completely before slicing for clean edges and the perfect fudgy texture.

Notes

For an extra decadent touch, drizzle melted dark chocolate over the cooled brownies or sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for a fudgier texture.
