Ingredients

Soup Base
  • 1 package (12 oz) Chicken dumplings (use chicken instead of pork for a lighter option)
  • 4 cups Low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp Fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 cups Fresh spinach or bok choy
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 2 stalks Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Method

  1. Gather and prepare all your ingredients to make the cooking process smooth and efficient.
  2. In a large pot over medium heat, add a small splash of oil. Sauté the minced garlic and grated ginger until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a gentle boil.
  4. Add the dumplings and cook according to package directions until they are tender and cooked through.
  5. Stir in the spinach or bok choy and soy sauce. Cook for 2–3 minutes, until the greens are wilted.
  6. Drizzle sesame oil over the soup before serving to enhance the flavor.
  7. Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For a vegetarian version, use vegetable broth and vegetable potstickers. Add mushrooms or shredded carrots for extra texture and flavor. Adjust soy sauce and sesame oil to taste.
