Ingredients
  

For the Sandwiches
  • 3 slices slices of bread Use white, whole wheat, or rye bread
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened Make sure cream cheese is soft for easy spreading
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced For a sweeter twist, consider vanilla or honey
  • to taste Sugar Start with 1 teaspoon and adjust according to preference
  • for garnish Mint leaves Optional for a fresh touch

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
  2. Spread a layer of the cream cheese mixture on each slice of bread.
  3. Layer the sliced strawberries on top of the cream cheese.
  4. Close the sandwiches and trim the crusts for a neat presentation.
  5. Cut the sandwiches into quarters and garnish with mint leaves if desired.
  6. Serve immediately or refrigerate until serving.

Notes

Wrap unserved sandwiches in plastic wrap and keep in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Do not freeze.
