Ingredients
  

Sweet Potato Filling
  • 2 pounds sweet potatoes (about 4 medium, 4 cups mashed)
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup granulated sugar 100 grams
  • ¼ cup salted butter, melted 28 grams
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Crunch Topping
  • 1 cup brown sugar 220 grams
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour 65 grams
  • 1 cup chopped pecans 120 grams
  • ½ cup salted butter, softened 56 grams

Method
 

  1. Scrub sweet potatoes, prick with a fork, and bake at 425°F for 40–50 minutes until tender.
  2. Cool slightly, peel sweet potatoes, and reduce oven temperature to 350°F.
  3. Mix mashed sweet potatoes, milk, eggs, sugar, melted butter, salt, vanilla, and cinnamon until smooth.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, and pecans. Add softened butter and mix until crumbly.
  6. Sprinkle the streusel topping evenly over the sweet potato filling.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until golden and set. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Add a pinch of nutmeg or a splash of maple syrup to enhance the warm, cozy flavor profile.
