Ingredients

Main Mixture
  • 3 cups mashed potatoes
  • 3 cups stuffing
  • 1.5 cups shredded turkey
  • black pepper to taste
Optional Ingredients
  • panko breadcrumbs for coating if pan-frying
  • butter or oil for frying
  • gravy for serving

Method

  1. Prep Ingredients: Bring all ingredients to room temperature. Warm mashed potatoes slightly if needed and moisten stuffing with a bit of broth if it's dry.
  2. Mix & Form: In a large mixing bowl, combine mashed potatoes and stuffing. Fold in shredded turkey and season with black pepper. Form mixture into 12 golf ball-sized portions.
  3. For Baked Version: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place balls on a lined baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until hot and lightly crispy.
  4. For Pan-Fried Version: Roll the balls in panko breadcrumbs. Heat butter or oil in a nonstick pan and fry until golden brown, turning gently to cook evenly.
  5. Serve: Top with hot gravy and serve immediately. Add cranberry sauce on the side if desired for a festive touch.

Notes

To make these ahead, shape and refrigerate the balls for up to one day before baking or frying. For a lighter version, use olive oil spray and bake instead of frying.
