Ingredients
Method
- 1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and place the rack in the center position.
- 2. Prepare the filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss until apples are evenly coated.
- 3. Add Twix and caramel: Gently fold in the chopped Twix bars and drizzle in the caramel sauce, mixing lightly to distribute throughout the filling.
- 4. Assemble the pie: Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and trim the edges if needed. Pour the apple-Twix mixture into the crust and dot with butter pieces.
- 5. Add the top crust: Cover with a second crust (or create a lattice top). Trim and crimp the edges to seal. In a small bowl, whisk the egg with water and brush over the top crust for a golden finish.
- 6. Bake: Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbling. If edges brown too quickly, cover them with foil halfway through baking.
- 7. Cool and serve: Let the pie cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before slicing to allow the filling to set. Drizzle with extra caramel before serving.
Notes
Make Ahead Tip: You can prepare the filling a day ahead and store it in the refrigerator. Assemble the pie just before baking.
