  • 4 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter Use creamy for smooth coating.
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips Melt slowly to avoid burning.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar Use less for less sweetness.
  • ½ cup crushed pistachios Adds crunch; can be substituted or omitted.
  • ¼ cup green food coloring Optional for color.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, measure out the Rice Chex and set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the peanut butter and white chocolate chips. Microwave for 30-60 seconds, stirring until smooth.
  3. If using, add the green food coloring to the mixture and stir well.
  4. Pour the melted mixture over the Rice Chex and gently mix until all pieces are coated.
  5. In a large zip-top bag, add the powdered sugar and crushed pistachios.
  6. Add the coated Rice Chex to the bag, seal it, and shake until well coated.
  7. Spread the puppy chow on a baking sheet to cool before serving.

Notes

Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days. For longer storage, freeze in a sealed bag for up to 1 month. Thaw before serving.
